Danny, een katholieke middelbare scholier in West-Belfast, Ierland droomt ervan om profvoetballer te worden. Hij is helemaal gek van het Braziliaanse voetbal. Maar om nog beter te worden moet hij eerst wat aan zijn ritme en zijn timing doen. Daarom gaat hij danslessen volgen, en daar ontmoet hij Lucy, op wie hij verliefd wordt.
