Het is 1954, een periode waarin homoseksualiteit strafbaar is. Pete Wildeblood ontmoet een knappe militair. De twee beginnen een verhouding. De gevolgen van hun relatie zijn verwoestend en ze worden veroordeeld. Het wordt een van de meest ophefmakende rechtszaken van de jaren 50.
