De film volgt Vince, een jonge klusjesman die door een vreemde speling van het lot instructies in handen krijgt die voor iemand anders bedoeld zijn. Vince besluit ze zelf op te volgen, onwetend dat hij gevolgd wordt door de messcherpe rechercheur Larry Mullane. Aan het eind van de aanwijzingen bereikt hij een afgelegen huis waar voor veel geld illegale weddenschappen worden afgesloten.
