De idealistische professor Dr. Malley, inspireert twee van zijn studenten om hun studie af te breken en zich bij de Amerikaanse troepen in Afghanistan te voegen. Als Malley dit verneemt, weet hij niet of hij zich trots of schuldig moet voelen. Ondertussen vormt senator Jasper Irving, een grote bedreiging. Hij is van plan om een onthullend interview met enorme gevolgen te geven aan tv-journaliste Janine Roth.
