In Seattle ontmoet de narcoleptische mannelijke hoer Mike de tegen zijn rijke familie rebellerende Scott, die dit doet door op de straat te werken. De twee besluiten een zoektocht naar Mike's moeder op te zetten. Hun reis leidt hen in eerste instantie naar Mike's thuis in Idaho, en uiteindelijk naar Italië.
