Lee Winters (Jane Fonda) is een voormalig filmster. Nadat haar man vermoord wordt, erft ze een ze een groot internationaal bedrijf. Ze gaat samenwerken met de bancaire adviseur Hubbell Smith (Kris Kristofferson) om er achter te komen wie haar man vermoord heeft. Maar er zijn hoge inzetten in deze internationale financiële wereld.
