In 1988 werd de film “Le Grand Bleu" uitgebracht, geïnspireerd op het verhaal van Jacques Mayol. Deze apnea-duiker (die een tijd onder water bleef met één ademteug) was tot dan bijna onbekend. Spoedig werd hij een internationale ster. Zijn verhaal heeft een generatie jonge mensen beïnvloed in hun benadering van de zee. "Dolphin Man" is een reis in de voetsporen van deze liefhebber van de zee, om te ontdekken wat zijn leven was en welke erfenis deze man achterliet door als eerste af te dalen tot 100 meter diep zonder zuurstoffles.
Nee, helaas is Dolphin Man nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
