Deze Kerstmis is de lagere schoolleraar Paul Maddens belast met de productie van het jaarlijkse lokale kersttoneelstuk. Zij moeten rivaliseren met de nabijgelegen sjieke school, omwille van de eer van de best beoordeelde show in de stad te spelen. Maar de inzet wordt verhoogd wanneer Paul er prat op gaat dat hij zijn ex-vriendin Jennifer, een Hollywood-producente, naar zijn show kan laten komen kijken met het oog er later misschien een film van te maken. Het enige probleem is dat zij elkaar in geen jaren gesproken hebben..
