Savannah, Georgia, de woelige jaren '30. Kapitein Rannulph Junah was ooit een veelbelovend golfspeler. Na de oorlog is hij verbitterd geraakt en zijn interesse voor het spel is verdwenen. Toch gaat hij akkoord om een partijtje te spelen tegen twee golfkampioenen, Bobby Jones en Walter Hagen. Junah wordt hierbij bijgestaan door Bagger Vance, zijn mysterieuze caddie. Het golfspelen laat Junah echter volledig koud en in het perspectief van de oorlog, vindt hij het niet alleen dwaas en absurd, maar ook beledigend om deze sport nog te beoefenen.
Nee, helaas is The Legend of Bagger Vance nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
