Enola Holmes, de jongere zus van Sherlock en Mycroft, wordt in de negentiende eeuw door haar excentrieke moeder Eudoria opgevoed. Wanneer haar moeder op haar zestiende verjaardag spoorloos verdwijnt, vindt Enola verborgen aanwijzingen die haar moeder heeft achtergelaten.
