De dertigjarige Tina is een transgender die samenwoont met haar grootmoeder Eliana. Sinds ze jaren geleden vanuit Mexico naar New York emigreerden, hebben ze moeite om een leven op te bouwen. Eliana verlangt eigenlijk naar een terugkeer naar Mexico, Tina daarentegen wil aanvaard worden in Amerika.
