Dean zit al een tijdje vast in zijn poging om een vervolg te maken op 'I was a Teenage Speed Freak', zijn ongelooflijk succesvolle graphic novel. Zijn fans verwachten geweldige dingen van hem en zijn redacteur, Louise, achtervolgt hem. In plaats van te werken besteedt Dean zijn tijd echter aan het zoeken naar zijn Argentijnse minnaar Pablo, die op een avond sigaretten ging halen en nooit meer terugkwam.
