Verhaal over de steenrijke Griekse scheepsmagnaat Theo Tomasis en zijn vrouw Liz Cassidy, gebaseerd op de geschiedenis van Onassis en zijn vrouw Jackie Kennedy. De film laat Tomasis' verwikkelingen zien om zijn imperium te behouden en te vergroten, de romantische affaires met zijn vriendin en latere echtgenote en het verdriet dat hem ten deel valt wanneer zijn zoon verongelukt.
