Een jonge tiener is getuige van de moord op zijn vader in de buurt van een groot nationaal bos. Achtervolgd door huurmoordenaars die hem het zwijgen willen opleggen, ontmoet hij in de wildernis al snel een ervaren brandwacht en overlevingsdeskundige die hem onderdak biedt in haar uitkijktoren. Wanneer de huurmoordenaars het bos in brand steken om hun sporen uit te wissen, moet het paar een dodelijke brand overleven die hen dreigt te verteren en de moordenaars te slim af zijn.
