Spenser is net vrijgelaten uit de gevangenis. Al snel na zijn vrijlating wordt de ex-politieagent weer in de onderwereld van Boston gezogen en ontdekt hij de waarheid achter een geruchtmakende moord. Er blijkt een enorme samenzwering achter de moord schuil te gaan. Spenser probeert samen met Hawk, een MMA-vechter, de waarheid te achterhalen.
