De tiener Nola heeft geen vast onderkomen, maar voelt zich overal waar ze komt comfortabel. Haar enige constante in het leven is haar vader Clint met wie ze de VS doorkruist in een camper. Geld verdienen ze door van de ene naar de andere vreemde baan te hoppen zodat hun onafhankelijkheid gewaarborgd blijft. Op een dag komt Nola echter alleen te staan.
