Helga is werkzaam op een redactie en ontmoet in een trein de psychiater Ángel. Hij vertelt haar over het leven van zijn patiënt Martín die als soldaat tijdens de oorlog een dokteres ontmoette. Op een bepaald moment weet Helga een dossier van de psychiater te bemachtigen dat informatie bevat over zijn patiënten. Het lezen ervan doet haar aan haar eigen verleden terugdenken.
