Lucy is een welgestelde vrouw met een grote kinderwens, maar heeft moeite om zwanger te worden. Zodoende overweegt ze een IVF-behandeling op te starten. Met de middelen en connecties van haar man wordt een afspraak geregeld met de meest begeerde vruchtbaarheidsarts in New York, Dr. Hindle. Wanneer Lucy eindelijk zwanger wordt, begint ze echter iets sinisters te voelen aan het hele proces.
