Voormalig filmdocent Mort Rifkin begeleidt zijn veel jongere vrouw Sue naar het Filmfestival van San Sebastian waar zij de publiciteit verzorgt voor de nieuwe film van regisseur Philippe, wiens nieuwste film daar in première gaat. Mort vermoedt dat er meer speelt tussen Sue en Philippe en krijgt last van nachtmerries en van zijn hart. Voor dat laatste zoekt hij hulp bij huisarts Jo Rojas, die een tijdje bij Mort om de hoek in New York heeft gewoond en van dezelfde films blijkt te houden. Terwijl Sue overdag druk aan het werk is, probeert Mort zijn dokter te verleiden tot een afspraak buiten haar praktijk.
Nee, helaas is Rifkin’s Festival nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
