Jeremy Jones studeert cello op het conservatorium in New York. Daar ziet hij Susan Rollins, die daar ballet studeert, en hij wordt plotsklaps verliefd op haar. Jeremy is erg onzeker over zichzelf, dus vraagt hij zijn vriend met meer ervaring Ralph om hem te helpen. Susan is niet erg onder de indruk van Jeremy, maar dat verandert wanneer zij Jeremy cello hoort spelen.
