Na een explosie in een haven vertelt ooggetuige Verbal Kint aan de politie hoe het allemaal zo ver is gekomen. Via flashbacks zien we hoe vijf criminelen bij elkaar gebracht werden bij een "line-up". Ze besluiten hierna samen een overval te plegen.
