Het verhaal gaat over drie eekhoorns. De rebelse Alvin, de lange genie en uitvinder Simon en de veelvraat Theodor. Alle drie worden opgevoed door Dave Seville. Hun grootste droom is om een van de bekendste rapgroepen aller tijden te worden. Alvin en de rest proberen alles op alles te zetten om zo snel mogelijk beroemd te worden.
Nee, helaas is Alvin en de Chipmunks nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
