Twee wetenschappers die alles in het werk stellen om de waarschuwingstijd te vergroten van een twister, willen elektronische meetapparatuur in het hart van de tornado brengen om hem zo beter te kunnen bestuderen en de weg die hij aflegt te kunnen voorspellen. Dit kan echter alleen door recht in haar dodelijke pad te gaan staan en te proberen het pas op het allerlaatste moment uit de weg te gaan...
