Haïfa, juni 1979. Nog op het punt haar man te verlaten, laat Viviane zich toch overhalen door haar broers om te blijven. Vervreemd van haar bestaan die haar dromen en rechten onmogelijk maakt en door haar man die streng de tradities volgt, ontmoet Viviane Albert, van wie ze vroeger al gehouden had. Deze respecteert wel haar gewenste vrijheid.
