Jack Burton is een stoere vrachtwagenchauffeur, die zijn vriend Wang helpt om diens vriendin terug te vinden. Hij komt terecht in Chinatown, maar tot zijn grote verbazing gebeuren daar enkele vreemde dingen. Hij en Wang moeten zich een weg banen door bovennatuurlijke krijgers om Lo Pan te verslaan, die Wangs vriendin wil offeren om zo zijn sterfelijkheid terug te krijgen.
