Jim is een 27-jarige man, die besluit dat hij zich niet kan redden in z'n eentje en hij trekt terug naar zijn ouders in Indiana. Zijn familie blijkt echter ook niet echt normaal te functioneren, maar Jim's leven verandert wanneer hij een lokale vrouw en haar zoontje ontmoet, die in hem een vaderfiguur zien.
Nee, helaas is Lonesome Jim nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
