Julia (Tilda Swinton) leidt een eenzaam en onrustig bestaan. Ze besluit haar alcoholverslaving aan te pakken en bezoekt een bijeenkomst van de anonieme alcoholisten. Daar ontmoet ze een jonge Mexicaanse vrouw, die haar zoon niet meer mag zien. Julia besluit de jongen te ontvoeren om hen weer te herenigen. Maar als de Mexicaanse vrouw plots spoorloos verdwijnt, zit Julia diep in de problemen. Ze besluit de ontvoering voort te zetten en gaat op de vlucht, met de grootvader van de jongen op haar hielen.
Nee, helaas is Julia nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
