De vijftienjarige Rune Ballot wordt door de snode gokker Shell Septinous ontvoerd en na een explosie voor dood achter gelaten. Hij heeft er echter niet mee gerekend dat ze middels cybernetische technologie gered en genezen zou worden. Nu is Rune uit op wraak, en heeft de kracht van de biotechnologie aan haar kant.
