Ray Ferrier is een arbeider, wonend in New Jersey. Hij is vervreemd van zijn gezin, zijn leven verloopt niet goed en hij is teveel met zichzelf bezig. Zijn eenvoudige leven wordt echter op een buitengewone en gewelddadige manier verstoord, wanneer allesvernietigende indringers hun opwachting maken. Buitenaardse wezens, die in grote aantallen zijn gekomen om de aarde te vernietigen. Terwijl zij zich een weg banen door het land en een spoor van vernietiging achter zich laten, moet Ray zijn kinderen zien te beschermen.
Nee, helaas is War of the Worlds nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
