New York, 1903. Zakenman en uitvinder Charles Whitley koopt op een veiling een antieke klok voor zijn verloofde Eliza. De twee hebben echter een moeizame relatie. Als hij tijdens een volle maan de klok probeert te repareren, belandt hij in het jaar 2020. Daar ontmoet hij Megan Turner, die werkt als gids in het museum dat vroeger zijn herenhuis was. Samen proberen ze Charles naar zijn eigen tijd terug te krijgen, maar ondertussen hebben hij en Megan gevoelens voor elkaar gekregen.
