Terwijl de wereld op zoek is naar een remedie voor een rampzalig virus, trekken een wetenschapper en een boswachter een bos in voor een routinematige tocht. Gedurende de nacht wordt hun reis echter een angstaanjagende nachtmerrie in de duisternis. Het bos om hen heen begint tot leven te komen.
