1974, Londen. Door onhandige mijnwerkers valt op meerdere plaatsen in Engeland de stroom uit. Val is een jonge verpleegster die nachtdienst heeft. Veel patiënten en medewerkers van het ziekenhuis worden geëvacueerd, waardoor Val bijna alleen in het ziekenhuis achterblijft. Na een tijdje wordt Val geconfronteerd met een sinistere aanwezigheid.
