Killian Maddox woont bij zijn zieke grootvader in en gaat voluit voor een afgetraind lichaam. Hij is erg opvliegend en voelt zich niet thuis binnen deze vijandige wereld. Hij volgt verplicht therapie en werkt halftijds in een kruidenierszaak waar hij voor een collega valt. Intussen timmert hij duchtig verder aan zijn droom van bodybuilder, ook al zet hij hiermee zijn gezondheid op het spel.
