Net als andere engelen begeleidt Seth mensen bij het sterven. Wanneer hij op een dag iemand komt helpen die op de operatietafel overlijdt, raakt hij onder de indruk van de chirurge Maggie die het leven van de man probeert te redden. Maggie heeft het moeilijk met het overlijden van haar patiënt en Seth probeert haar te helpen. Seth voelt zich steeds meer tot Maggie aangetrokken en raakt in tweestrijd.
