In de huidige tijd werkt Atahualpa aan de aanleg van een weg naar de Oriente. In de streek gaat het gerucht van een enorme schat die verborgen ligt aan het begin van de nederzetting. Op een middag, nadat zijn vriendin Rocío de stad heeft verlaten, voelt Atahualpa een provocatie, een verre roep die hem honderd jaar terug in de tijd voert.
Nee, helaas is Al Oriente nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
