Na een wilde nacht te hebben doorgebracht met de sexy pornoster Ginger, ontdekt Rick dat zijn huis leeggeroofd is. Zijn situatie wordt nog erger als zijn vriendin Tamara achter zijn slippertje komt en hun relatie beëindigt. Vervolgens wordt Rick door zijn huisbaas zijn appartement uitgegooid en besluit hij Ginger op te gaan zoeken, die hem eerder gevraagd heeft naar Palm Springs te komen. Hij verlaat L.A. en laat zijn beste vriend Jack bij Tamar achter, niet wetende dat deze heimelijk verliefd op haar is. Onderweg ontmoet Rick de wereldvreemde Jules die hij overhaalt mee te gaan naar Palm Springs.
