Het waargebeurde verhaal van de dodelijke schietpartij van Charles Whitman op de Universiteit van Texas wordt opnieuw verteld. In augustus 1966, nadat hij zijn vrouw en moeder had vermoord, klom Whitman naar de top van de schooltoren en opende het vuur op voorbijgangers, waarbij dertien mensen om het leven kwamen en vele anderen gewond raakten.
