Clara Bingham geeft les op een kunstschool en woont in Chicago. Na het overlijden van haar grootvader, genaamd Jerry, keert ze terug naar haar geboorteplaats Fayetteville. Daar gaat Clara haar moeder helpen met de familiewinkel, die deels eigendom was van Jerry. Dan treft Clara het oude dagboek van Jerry aan.
