Een negen jarige autistische jongen heeft onbewust een zeer geheime code van het Amerikaanse leger gekraakt. Luitenant Nicholas Kudrow (Alec Baldwin) wil hem in het belang van de nationale veiligheid laten vermoorden. Maar hij heeft één probleem, de jongen wordt geholpen door FBI agent Art Jeffries (Bruce Willis).
