Daniel reist samen met zijn leraar Miyagi naar Okinawa om daar Miyagi's op sterven liggende vader te bezoeken. Tijdens zijn verblijf in z'n geboorteland wordt Miyagi weer geconfronteerd met zijn aartsvijand en de nog altijd aanwezige vete tussen hen. Daniel leert veel over de oude Japanse tradities en de erecodes, wanneer ook hij verwikkeld raakt in deze vendetta.
