Sinds zijn vrouw bij hem weg is, is Francis een gebroken man. Hij werkt als barman in een nachtclub en verzacht zijn pijn met alcohol. Zijn tien jaar oude zoon redt zich in zijn eentje, maar hij is boos op zijn vader, omdat die zichzelf niet bijeen weet te rapen. Omdat hij van zijn kind houdt, besluit Francis zijn oude baantje als goochelaar weer op te pakken.
