Als het bedrijf gaat reorganiseren verwacht de gelukkig getrouwde computerexpert Tom Sanders een flinke promotie. De baan gaat echter naar een vrouw, Meredith Johnson, met wie hij vroeger een relatie had. Meredith wordt Toms baas en is vastbesloten om het te gaan maken binnen het bedrijf. Ook wil ze de relatie weer oppikken. Tom kan haar bijna niet weerstaan, maar wijst haar toch af. Hij klaagt haar aan wegens seksuele intimidatie, maar het bedrijf kan deze negatieve publiciteit niet gebruiken.
