Achttien jaar nadat hun Star Trek-achtige serie na een paar afleveringen is gecanceld, lopen de acteurs van de serie nog steeds beurzen en conventies af. Ze worden gekidnapt door aliens die denken dat de acteurs échte ruimtehelden zijn, en vragen ze om te helpen met hun oorlog tegen de slechte General Sarris.
