Anne Marie werkt samen met haar vriendin bij een hotel op Hawaii, om het saaie leventje te ontspringen staan ze elke morgen altijd vroeg op om zo samen de hoge golven op de surfplank te trotseren. Hun droom is om ooit de grote surfwedstrijd te winnen. Maar dan opeens verschijnt Matt. Ze verliest haar balans en ze worden verliefd. Haar surfconditie heeft daar echter wel onder te lijden.
