Filmproducent Viktor Taransky heeft een gigantisch probleem wanneer zijn ster-actrice plots opstapt. Computer-genie Hank Aleno helpt hem echter op bijzondere wijze uit de brand. Hij zorgt voor de ideale actrice: eentje die niet dik of oud wordt, eentje die niet zeurt en die bovendien geen ontslag kan nemen. Een virtuele, synthetische filmster is gecreëerd en haar naam is Simone.
