Steve Glew, een boer uit een klein stadje in Michigan, stapt kort na de val van de Berlijnse Muur op het vliegtuig naar Oost-Europa. Zijn missie is het lokaliseren van een geheime fabriek die de sleutel bevat tot de meest gewilde en waardevolle Pez snoep dispensers. Als het hem lukt, zal hij zijn gezin uit de armoede halen en eindelijk een doel vinden in zijn alledaagse leven.
