Er heerst een koloniale oorlog in Amerika tussen de Britten en de Fransen, allebei worden ze geholpen door verscheidene indianenstammen. Hawkeye is een door de indianen geadopteerde Europeaan die samen met zijn stam de Britten helpt. Ondertussen wordt hij verliefd op de dochter van de hoofdofficier.
