Verpleegster Franky heeft in haar jeugd ernstige brandwonden opgelopen. Ze heeft het drama nog niet verwerkt en zit vol woede. Haar familie moet het ontgelden, in het bijzonder haar vader, die het gezin destijds in de steek liet. Als Franky echter verliefd wordt op haar patiënt Florence, komt haar leven volledig op zijn kop te staan.
