Tijdens de zomervakantie gaan de drie vrienden samen op reis naar Roemenië, waar ze stage mogen lopen op de filmset van "Dracula Rises", voor hen geregeld door Peters vader, die verantwoordelijk is voor de special effects tijdens de opnames. Ze zijn nog maar net in Transsylvanië aangekomen of de mysterieuze gebeurtenissen beginnen zich op te stapelen in het oude kasteel van gravin Codrina, dat dient als de originele setting voor de film. De drie detectives willen uitzoeken wat dit alles te maken kan hebben met een jongen die al meer dan 50 jaar vermist is, een mysterieuze broederschap en een raadselachtige ondode.
