Faye haalt een androïde in huis die als twee druppels water op haar overleden echtgenoot Evan gelijkt. Dit in een poging om zijn dood gemakkelijker te kunnen verwerken. Faye kan maar moeilijk omgaan met haar zogenaamde SIM, al poogt de androïde haar ervan te overtuigen dat de liefde van zijn kant oprecht is en niet voorgeprogrammeerd. De overheid ziet in zijn gevoelens en denkvermogen een bedreiging en opent de jacht op de SIM.
Nee, helaas is Simulant nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
